Application for a Scholarship for entry into Year 7 or 9 in 2023
Melbourne Grammar School offers three types of scholarships on an annual basis:
Applications close: Friday 28 January 2022
Examination date: Saturday 5 February 2022
Please note that late applications for annual scholarships will not be accepted.
All applicants for each of these scholarships at Melbourne Grammar School sit two examinations:
Both of these examinations will be held at Melbourne Grammar School on Saturday 5 February 2022.
PLEASE NOTE: Applicants who sit an Edutest examination in 2022 and prior to Saturday 5 February where results are transferrable will have their results transferred to Melbourne Grammar and do not sit the Edutest examination at Melbourne Grammar again. However, Melbourne Grammar requires all applicants to complete an additional test on Saturday 5 February which will be administered by the School.
Applicants may be able to sit the examinations remotely in certain circumstances. If you wish to organise a remote sitting of the examinations, please contact both firstname.lastname@example.org AND email@example.com, immediately upon completing your registration. Additional fees apply. You can find out more information about remote testing here.
Scholarship selection criteria - Academic and Music scholarships
Prior to submitting an application for a 2023 scholarship, please ensure you have read the information about the selection criteril for our Academic and Music scholarships available here. This includes special conditions (including minimum AMEB levels) for Music scholarship applicants.
Note that shortlisted Music scholarship applicants will be asked to audition as part of the selection process.
Scholarship selection criteria and additional requirements - Boarding scholarships
We don’t just rely on examination performance when offering Boarding scholarships. There is a wider set of selection criteria used in relation to them. For example, we take sporting, leadership and other similar capabilities into account.
Accordingly, we ask Boarding scholarship applicants who want us to consider selection criteria beyond the examination results to provide optional additional information as part of their application.
You can find out more about the selection criteria and the additional information we suggest you provide here.
After completing the application form on this website, please provide your additional information here.
Other scholarships offered at Melbourne Grammar School
Melbourne Grammar School offers a range of other scholarships beyond the three scholarships listed here. This includes a range of Access (means tested) scholarships.
As part of your application for the above scholarships, you will be asked if you would also like to be automatically considered for any available Access scholarships. Shortlisted applicants will need to provide financial information which demonstrates need.
Please visit here to find out more about Access scholarships.
