1. FAHAN SCHOOL ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS

Academic Scholarships are open to students entering Years 9-12 in 2021. The recipient will receive a discount of up to 50% of school tuition fees.

All Academic Scholarship applicants are required to sit the Edutest scholarship examination.

Applicants must also apply in writing on the Fahan School Scholarship Application Form. This form should be completed by the student, in their own handwriting, and the student’s two most recent school reports and most recent NAPLAN results should be returned to the School with the form by 20 March 2020.

Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to an interview with the Principal.

 

2. FAHAN SCHOOL GENERAL EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIPS

General Excellence Scholarships are open to students entering Years 9-12 in 2021. The recipient will receive a discount of up to 50% of school tuition fees.

The General Excellence Scholarships will be awarded to students who embody the School’s values. It is expected that successful applicants are well-rounded and contributing members of the Fahan Community.

To be eligible for a General Excellence Scholarship, applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

• Demonstrated academic achievement and potential

• Excellence in one or more of the following categories including Music*, Science, Arts, Sport and Community Service.

• High level of application to all classroom and extra-curricular activities

• Leadership within areas of excellence

• Ability and willingness to make a positive contribution to all School activities.

All General Excellence Scholarship applicants are required to sit the Edutest scholarship examination.

Applicants must also apply in writing on the Fahan School Scholarship Application Form. This form should be completed by the student, in their own handwriting, and the student’s two most recent school reports and most recent NAPLAN results should be returned to the School with the form by Friday 20 March 2020.

Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to an interview with the Principal.

 

*Music Scholarships

Students applying for a Fahan School General Excellence Music Scholarship must attend an audition with the Director of Music and Deputy Principal. Applicants must be studying at least one instrument at the following minimum AMEB Grade level or equivalent:

•  Year 9: AMEB Grade 5

•  Year 10-12: AMEB Grade 5/6

These requirements are a guide and the audition will hold more weight than the AMEB ranking. Applicants will be required to play two short contrasting pieces of their choice on their chosen instrument or voice and will also be given a short piece of sight-reading and some aural tasks. 

 

3. FAHAN SCHOOL BOARDING SCHOLARSHIPS

Boarding Scholarships are open to students entering Years 9-12 in 2021. The recipient will receive a discount of up to 50% of boarding fees and/or school tuition fees.

These Boarding Scholarships are awarded by the Principal to girls who embody the Fahan School values and whose personal financial circumstances would prevent them from attending the School.

Fahan Boarding Scholarships are intended for students who:

• Will make a positive contribution to Boarding life at Fahan

• Have talents, skills, interests and passions in a broad range of areas

• Demonstrate leadership potential and a willingness to take on new challenges

• Will gain from, and engage with, the School’s diverse range of programs

All Boarding Scholarship applicants are required to sit the Edutest scholarship examination.
