Scholarships for General Excellence (Academic) 

Scholarships for General Excellence (Academic) are offered to new and current students entering Years 5, 7, 8 and 9 in 2020 who demonstrate outstanding academic ability.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of the results of a scholarship examination, an online application and interview.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited, together with their families, to attend an interview with the Principal.

Scholarships for General Excellence (Co-curricular) 

Scholarships for General Excellence (Co-curricular) are offered to new and current students entering Years 7, 8 and 9 in 2020 who demonstrate outstanding achievement, commitment and potential in one or more areas.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of achievement as evidenced in an online application, the results of a scholarship examination and interview.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview with our selection panel.  Further shortlisted applicants will be invited, together with their families, to attend an interview with the Principal.

Criteria

In addition to a high level of commitment to school and co-curricular activities and the potential to make a positive contribution to all school activities, applicants should demonstrate one or more of the following:

·    Leadership role held within or outside of school

·    State, national or equivalent major success in a sporting, creative, intellectual, technological or entrepreneurial pursuit

·    Demonstrate a significant level of commitment to citizenship, including community service, at school or in local/global community service organisations  

Scholarships for General Excellence (Music) 

Scholarships for General Excellence (Music) are offered to new and current students entering Years 5, 7, 8 and 9 in 2020 who demonstrate outstanding musical ability and achievement in music (instrumental/choral) within and/or beyond the context of school.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of an online application, the results of a scholarship examination, an audition and interview.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to audition for, and interview with, our selection panel.  Further shortlisted applicants will be invited, together with their families, to attend an interview with the Principal.

Criteria

The following AMEB levels and recommendations are intended as an indication of the expected standard of scholarship applicants. The AMEB grades are not prerequisites for application and students will not be excluded from applying if they have not completed any AMEB exams.

Year 5
Learning an instrument for at least 2 years

Choral scholarship applicants – at least one year choral experience

Year 7 – 8
Cello, piano, flute, clarinet, violin, saxophone – Grade 3 AMEB or equivalent

All other instruments – Grade 2 AMEB or equivalent
Choral scholarship applicants – at least two years choral experience

Year 9
Cello, piano, flute, clarinet, violin, saxophone – Grade 5 AMEB or equivalent

All other instruments – Grade 4 AMEB or equivalent
Choral scholarship applicants – Grade 4 AMEB or equivalent
