Application for Commerce Scholarships for entry to Years 10 - 12 in 2027

Scholarships will be awarded by a selection panel.

Selection Criteria
- Applicants must display the following:
- Commitment to developing entrepreneurial thinking and business-related skills.
- A passion for commerce, enterprise, and innovation, and a willingness to take initiative.
- Selection of a Commerce/Business-related subject as a curriculum choice for the following academic year (e.g. IB Business Management, VCE Business Management, VCE Economics, VCE Accounting, VCE Legal Studies. Failure to enrol in a Commerce or Business subject will result in ineligibility. Candidates who withdraw from all commerce subjects risk their scholarship being revoked.
- A high level of achievement and commitment to their studies. Adherence to the AIAE Student Code of Conduct.
- Business Concept Proposal (see below).
- Successful completion of the Scholarship Test.
- Participation in an interview with a panel of AIAE Commerce and Administrative Staff.
Application Process
As part of the application process, applicants for the Commerce Scholarship must submit the following supporting documentation:
- Innovation Challenge: Submit a creative solution to a local, social, or school-related problem. A 5-7 page document or presentation outlining an original business idea or entrepreneurial project. The proposal should include: Executive summary, problem and solution, target market, business model, basic financial considerations, and scalability. All ideas must be original and independently developed. School assignments may not be submitted as part of the scholarship application.
- Elevator Pitch Video: A 1-2 minute recorded pitch of their idea or entrepreneurial journey.
- Personal Statement discussing the applicant's entrepreneurial journey or interest,
- including their inspiration, qualities that make them strong candidates, and why commerce and innovation matter to them.
- Declaration of Originality form.

The closing date for all submissions of the portfolio for the Arts Scholarship will be Friday, 31st July. Interviews will take place in Term 3.
Scholarship testing will be conducted at the Melbourne Senior Campus. Students must complete the Edutest academic test.
Students may only apply for one scholarship.
This assessment forms part of the TERM 3 results transfer process. Results from examinations completed in Terms 1 or 2 cannot be transferred. For details see: https://edutest.com.au/registering.html
