Scholarships will be awarded by a selection panel.  

Selection Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate the following:

  • Commitment to developing their artistic expression and skills.
  • A passion and love for the Arts and developing themselves as artists.
  • An intention to undertake an Arts subject as a curriculum choice for the following academic year.
  • A high level of achievement and commitment to studies in the Arts.
  • Adherence to the AIAE Student Code of Conduct.
  • Successful completion of the Scholarship Test.
  • Participate in an interview with a panel of AIAE Arts and Administrative Staff.

Application Process

As part of the application process, applicants for the Arts Scholarship must submit the following supporting documentation:

  • Submission of a Portfolio of Artwork (details below)
    • 10 pieces of original artwork presented in the form of a PowerPoint Presentation (saved on two USBs). The materials, theme and subject matter for this body of work is at the discretion of the applicant.
    • Each artwork must be presented on its own slide in the PowerPoint presentation, and include the image title, date of production, and materials.
    • 4 artworks to be selected as “feature” pieces, where applicants will include an Artist’s Statement, explaining their artistic intentions, processes and practices when creating these key pieces.
    • Applicants must ensure that all work submitted is original in idea and independently created.
    • Artworks created as part of school classwork may not be submitted as part of the scholarship application.
  • A personal statement discussing the applicant’s development as an artist, and provides insight into their connection to the arts, and why it is important to them.
  • Declaration of Artistic Integrity form included in the scholarship document.

Scholarship testing will be conducted at the Melbourne Senior Campus. Applicants must complete the Edutest academic test.

Students may only apply for one scholarship.
