Loreto Mandeville Hall Toorak offers a Catholic education which liberates, empowers and motivates students to use their individual gifts with confidence, creativity and generosity in loving and responsible service.
Loreto Toorak offers a range of scholarships that foster and promote academic excellence in a community that seeks to educate the whole person. Scholarships are awarded annually to support students who are motivated to learn, strive to achieve their best, and embody the Loreto values.
The Scholarship Program is open to prospective students.
Scholarships apply to tuition fees; all criteria are clearly outlined in the Scholarship Agreement.
Our scholarships are referred to as Endeavour and Open Circle Scholarships. If you wish to register for an Endeavour Scholarship, please submit an application here.

Open Circle Scholarships
The Open Circle Scholarships are awarded to aspirational and talented candidates who seek a Loreto education, but financial constraints would otherwise limit their access to a place at the School.
Each scholarship has specific criteria awarded on merit and is means-tested.
These scholarships are available to current and prospective students.
Sr Ruth Winship Scholarship (Means Tested Academic) – Years 7
Sr Ruth Winship ibvm held a cherished place in the Loreto Mandeville Hall Toorak School community. From her arrival as a young boarder in 1934 until her passing in 2012 at the age of 94, Sr Ruth demonstrated a deep and abiding affection for the School.
Sr Ruth’s enduring commitment to Loreto Toorak spanned over 70 years, encompassing roles as a student, teacher, Mistress of Schools, Past Pupil, community leader, patron, supporter, and friend. Her loyalty and love for the School was unwavering, with her heartfelt prayers for our community continued to her final days. Generations of Loreto Toorak students, their families and school staff have been touched by the friendship and wise
counsel of Sr Ruth.
She exemplified qualities of generosity, love, and service and as a true Mary Ward woman, she embodied verity, loyalty, joy, and a steadfast commitment to justice. She engaged with all those she met with respect and her strength, integrity and intelligence provided a model of authentic Loreto leadership. Sr Ruth Winship was a remarkable woman whose enduring legacy continues to inspire and guide the Loreto Toorak community.
The Sr Ruth Winship Scholarship seeks to support an aspirational and talented student committed to her studies and who wishes to be actively engaged in a broad range of school activities and eager to make a positive contribution to school life.
This Open Circle Scholarship is designed to provide a Loreto Toorak education to a student who would otherwise be unable to attend the school due to financial constraints. As part of the application process, candidates will provide supporting evidence of their ability to contribute to the life of the school and their commitment to their academic studies. Through the scholarship examination process, the candidate must demonstrate a solid academic ustanding. All Open Circle Scholarships are extensively means-tested through an assessment process that includes recent Tax returns, completion of a financial questionnaire and Statutory Declaration. This scholarship provides 100% remission of tuition fees.

Jean Elizabeth (Betty) Ryan Scholarship (Means Tested) –Year 7
Jean Elizabeth (Betty) Ryan nee Tutton graduated from Loreto Toorak in 1930. Betty held a deep affection for and connection with her school, often recounting stories of her time as a student and the enduring lifelong friendships that ensued. During the Second World War, at the age of 21, Betty became a widow, and in later years Betty was cared for by her sister Margaret until her death in 2003 at the age of 91. During their life, Betty and her sister Margaret remained committed to their family’s legacy of service and philanthropy.
The Jean Elizabeth (Betty) Ryan scholarship is offered in Betty’s memory and seeks to support a student who has a strong commitment to social justice and service to others. It is also seeking a recipient who is keen to engage wholeheartedly in the many opportunities that a Loreto education offers; to enhance her academic development and deep personal formation committed to a lifetime of service and works of social justice.
