The Scholarship Program is open to current and prospective students.

Scholarships apply to tuition fees; all criteria are clearly outlined in the Scholarship Agreement.

Our scholarships are referred to as Endeavour and Open Circle Scholarships.

For all enquiries, please contact the Admissions Department at admissions@loretotoorak.vic.edu.au

Endeavour Scholarships

The Endeavour Scholarships are a variety of scholarships each with specific criteria awarded on merit and other areas of excellence.

General Academic Scholarships – Years 5, 6, 7, and 9

This scholarship is available to current and prospective students.

Students applying for a General Academic Scholarship will be consistently high academic achievers and will demonstrate exceptional results in the Edutest examination process.

Scholarships will provide partial remission of tuition fees until the end of Year 12, subject to the student maintaining a high standard in her studies and a positive contribution to school life.

Interviews will be conducted as part of the selection process for shortlisted candidates.

Students must either be Australian citizens or holders of a PERMANENT Resident's Visa at the time of this application.  If you are uncertain as to the status of your visa, please contact the School to confirm your eligibility.

General Academic scholarship applications do not require the completion of further documentation at this stage.

Music Scholarship – Instrumental (Dr Susan Stevens) – Years 5, 6 and 7

This scholarship is available to current and prospective students.

Music scholarships are awarded based on an audition. Candidates must demonstrate strong academic ability through the Edutest examination process. Students must also satisfy standard Loreto Toorak entrance requirements.

Due to the high volume of applications, not all candidates will be shortlisted for an audition. The Music Department reserves the right to offer auditions at the discretion of the Director of Music based on the needs of the department.

Scholarships will provide partial remission of tuition fees until the end of Year 12, subject to the student maintaining a high standard in her studies and a positive contribution to school life.

The following minimum standards for Music Scholarships will apply:

Years 5 and 6: AMEB Grade 4 for Piano; other instruments, Grade 3

Year 7: AMEB Grade 6 for Piano, Violin and Cello; other instruments, Grade 5

Applications without supporting documentation will not be considered.  Please return any information you may wish to include in support of your application, including the student’s two most recent school reports and the relevant AMEB Music examination reports to the Admissions Office prior to 7 February 2025.

Candidates will be required to attend an audition on Friday 21st February 2025.  Confirmation of audition times will be communicated by close of business on Monday 17 February. Applicants will need to provide their own accompanist. In the audition, applicants will be required to present:

  • Two contrasting pieces up to eight minutes in total (per instrument, as applicable)
  • Sight reading (at the appropriate level)
  • Undertake aural tests
  • Technical work (at the appropriate level)
  • General knowledge (at the appropriate level)
